As the cooperation tie between  China and ASEAN countries is increasingly promoted in the recent years, the Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has scaled up construction, economic, and free trade activities to become the gateway for China - ASEAN cooperation. Among cooperation areas, Vocational Education and Training is an important area for China - ASEAN cooperation and exchange.

From 1st to 4th August 2019, the ASEAN TVET Officials Meeting on  “Advancing TVET towards Internationalization of Vocational Education Qualification and Standards for Sustainable Development” was held in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

In Vietnam, an indicator-based VET reporting system was developed as a regular activity and implemented by the National Institute for Vocational Education and Training (NIVET), in trilateral cooperation with the German Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) and the Deutsche-Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). 

“How can high-quality, inclusive and fair education be achieved?” - this was the guiding question that served as a red thread throughout the Alumniportal Deutschland’s Lab “No Future Without Education” that took place in Hanoi on 20 October 2017. Around 30 selected participants - Germany-Alumni, representatives from civil society and academia as well as German organisations (like DAAD; GIZ, or Goethe Intitute) - came together to network and share their knowledge and ideas on the topic of education.

Abu Dhabi, UAE - Glamour lights, spectacular performances, colorful parade, and exciting applause that is how Worldskills Abu Dhabi 2017 (WSAD 2017) has got started in the evening of October 14th 2017.

Da Nang city - On August 1st, 2017 the CLMVT (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam) senior labor officials gathered in a meeting on "Human resource development and decent work for migrant workers".

VGP – The number of migrant laborers is on the rise, requiring enhanced cooperation in migrant labor management, including the prevention of illegal migrant laborers and guaranty of safety for workers.  

Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar - The 4th Regional TVET Conference has been started on June 13th 2017 in Myanmar International Convention Center II, Nay Pyi Taw, Myanamar. This is the fourth and the last Regional TVET Conference in the series within ASEAN region in the last 5 years.

Hanoi - A meeting among development agencies and GDVT was held by World Bank Vietnam on March 9th, 2017 to get more details in the implementation of Law on Vocational Education and Training (VET) and project "Reform and improve VET quality period 2017-2020, vision to 2025. 

Hanoi - On January 18th 2016,  2016 year-end meeting and also the annual personnel meeting of General Directorate of Vocational Training (GDVT) was organized with the attendance of Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung - Member of the Central Committee of Communist Party, MOLISA Minister, Mr. Huynh Van Ty - former Member of the Central Committee of Communist Party and MOLISA vice Minister,  Assoc.Prof.Dr. Duong Duc Lan - former GDVT's General Director, leaders and representatives from MOLISA's units and media agency. This event gathered Dr. Nguyen Hong Minh - GDVT's General Director and all GDVT's staffs.

1. In 2016, state management on vocational education and training (VET) was assigned for Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) by Vietnamese Government.

The Vietnamese delegation headed by Dr Truong Anh Dung- Deputy General Director of General Directorate of Vocational Training (GDVT) successfully completed the Green TVET Study Tour to Germany on 4 December 2016.
