Vietnam Vocational Training Report

Vietnam Vocational Education and Training Report 2015 is a publication co-developed by NIVET, Federal Institute of Vocational Education and Training (BiBB), and GIZ as a further step to the Vietnam Vocational Training Report 2013-2014. As the country underwent many important changes in 2015 with the establishment of ASEAN community and was at the first year of new VET law implementation, this report was produced to mirror the status of Vietnamese VET system under these implications. The new inclusion of 2015 VET report was the new chapter about Cooperation with enterprises in VET sector which stressed the importance of a vital relationship in developing collaborative training programs and meet the fast-changing demand of the labor market.

Continuing the development of Vocational Training Report – Vietnam in 2011 and 2012, NIVT cooperated with German Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB), and GIZ to give suggestions on the contents and technical aspects for the Vocational Training Report – Vietnam, 2013 – 2014. Also, the supports from GDVT’s units, experience extracted from the workshops, seminars did have contribution to the making of this report.

All the comments, perspectives in this report were reflected in an objective and scientific manners and did not show the traditional views of the governmental TVET administration agencies on vocational training. The final version of this report was named “Vocational Training Report” to be aligned with the legal regulations at the time of the making. The report was constructed on the basis of 9 components in which “Costs-Benefits” was integrated as the new component, and some modifications to the structure of this report were applied to bring better rationality.

Vocational Training Report – Vietnam 2012 was built under the cooperation framework among NIVT, Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB), and GIZ.
This report gave an overall picture of Vietnam’s vocational training at the present (as of December 2012) with the dark spots of drawbacks, existing deficiencies of Vietnam’s vocational training system in reference with the criteria of Vietnam’s vocational training development strategy period 2011-2020, thereby giving recommendations to refine the policies for a better vocational training quality and effectiveness.

Vocational Training Report – Vietnam, 2011 is the first annual report that is published under the successful trilateral cooperation of NIVT, GIZ, and Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB). This report comprises of 12 components built on the foundation of existing statistics; thus, though incomplete, this report still portray the “big picture” with different “color blocks” about Vietnam’s vocational training.
